I'm looking at adding a new Fork Attachment to our line. We currently manufacture a fork attachment that uses a 1-1/2" round bar so that the forks can slide left and right and also rotate up and down. I'm now looking at manufacturing a fork attachment that uses the locking pin at the top like on a typical fork lift so that the forks will not slide when locked and will not rotate. There are many of these styles on the market. I wanted to get your input to see what features you like on fork attachments and what features are of no use. Any thought are appreciated.

Thanks,

My thought, if you are looking to make forks for the CUT market...... lighten a pair up. I expect to be buying (skidsteer q/a style) forks in the near future. Most I've looked at are rated @ two ton or more, and weigh too much for alot of compacts. I'd like to see lighter duty forks, that weigh less, and have a more basic 'spill guard' (or whatever the technical term is for the part of the carriage that keeps materiel from falling on your hood/head). When I buy it will be a set the locks into place, and does not swing out when tilting forward (as you described).

I agree on the lighten up part
with a loader that only can lift 660lbs a 5 or 6 hundred lb rack and set of forks kind of limits you to picking up an empty pallet
