Foton 254
I bought a Foton 254 at auction and picked up a new front end loader for it. I have the mounts set up on the tractor, but can't work out how to tap in for the hydraulics. Does anyone have a diagram for this or a picture of their Foton. 254 which can show me the hydraulic hook ups.

Thanks
Rich

If you follow the lines out of your pump, is there a "quick connect" fitting in that line? Not specifically familliar with your Foton 254, but many of the chinese tractors have a quick connect fitting in the main high pressure output line comming off the pump. It is usually in the vicinity of where the loader control valve will be located(down by your right foot when seated). If your loader valve is on the loader frame, the loader control valve will have 2 or 3 lines comming off of it. One is an inlet, that connects to the line comming from the pump. The other is a outlet that connects to the line running back to the rest of the tractors systems. It may have a third "return" line that goes back to the reservoir, but in my studies, most chinese tractors don't use this. Most of the loaders have 2 short hoses with quick connect fittings on the ends. You shut down the engine, separate the QC on the tractor and connect the QC connectors on those lines from the valve to their appropriate counterparts on the main line. The QC connectors of course have to be correctly configured to connect this way(pump output to valve input ect). Here is a hydraulic line drawing of my Jinma 254. The QC's and FEL valve are in the upper right comming right out of the pump.

It is also important that if you have QC connectors on the main line, that they NEVER get separated while the engine is running or attempted to start, as when separated they block the flow and the flow MUST NEVER BE BLOCKED. This will usually destroy the pump. Once QC's are connected, a large zip-tie should be put around the QC so the sliding collar cannot be accidently opened untill the zip-tie is cut off.

A lot of this depends on how new the machine is. Heck the newer chinese tractors are comming with pre-plummed joysticks mounted next to the seat with 4 QC working ports up by the loader frame to connect the lift and dump circuits to.

Some pics of the hydraulic plumbing on your machine will help us to give you some specific guidance.

What Tommy describes is the usual way it is done on the chinese tractors with the loader connected between pump and diverter. But I notice you have a quick connect in the line comming out of the diverter running back to the 3PH and rear remote control valve. You could connect the loader in using that quick connect union. The purpose of the diverter is to give the steering priority over the other hydraulic uses, so I have always been surprised that most of the chinese tractors I see have the loader plummed in upstream of the diverter.

The loader should work fine plummed in at that quick connect after the diverter, just like the 3PH and rear remotes farther downstream do... You will need a set of matching QC fittings to mate up with those already on the tractor, and 2 high pressure jumper hoses to run from the QC's to the loader input and output ports. The line comming off the diverter will go to loader valve input and the line out of the loader valve will connect down to that QC on the end of the hard line to feed back to the rest of the hydraulic system.
