I was out on the Foton yesterday getting on top of the fire breaks on our property. An important issue here in Australia. At one stage I had the bucket in the air and I noticed that one of the bucket tilt cylinders was dripping out hydraulic oil at a fair rate at the rod wiper seal. I was concerned that I didn't run out of hydraulic oil and so damage the pump. Back at the shed I pulled the tilt ram off at the rod end and stripped it down. I ended up replacing 2 seals and an O-ring. The seals were in the cylinder end cap. A U-seal 38mm x 28mm x 10mm and the wiper seal 28mm x 38mm x 5/9mm. The O-ring was a 45mm x 3mm on the end cap. All up cost was about $15 for seals and $6 for a couple of litres of hydraulic oil. All good now and a relatively inexpensive repair. Forunately some years ago I had lifter cylinder leaks and had measured up seals and got some in "just in casë". It paid off.
