Tiller Found the $50 Tillers!

Found a place in Southern California that literally has a pile of used import 2 point tillers for $50 ea. I bought a Yanmar RS1202 that the tines had very little wear and bearings were tight as well as still had oil in it. It was very rusty but after some sandblasting and paint, it looks good and works great. I had to modify the Yanmar bracket to fit my Shibaura SD1843 but it worked out good. Came with the driveshaft too! I will probably convert this to a 3 point in the future but for now I will use it as is.

For those of you in the Southern California area looking for a cheap tiller, it may be worth the drive to Lucerne Valley. If you are interested, call Brian at 760-553-6079. I have no affiliation with them and found this place from an ad they had on Craigslist. Worked out great for me and I am very happy!

By the way, they also had at least a dozen new Atlas 3 point 4ft box blades there but I did not ask what the price was as I already have one.

Thanks guys! I just bought the tractor about a month ago for $1500. It's a Shibaura SD1843, 3 cyl Diesel and came with the loader and box blade. The guy I bought it from could not get it started and said there was a problem with the hydaulics. Got it home and he must have run it out of fuel, just had to prime it and it started right up. Hydraulics problem was just a dirty filter! It runs great, starts right up, and everything works - including the lights and gauges LOL.

Looks great and a great deal. On a side note, I have a Shib Sd1840 with the 2 cylinder and I've looked and looked and can't find the hydraulic filter. Where is it on yours?

That rototiller is a 2 point tiller converted over to 3 point.
Its supposed to go on a YM 1401 1510- 1301.

Crusty, on my SD1843, the hydraulic filter is right behind the pump on the engine. The large suction line goes into a horizontal tube about 3" in diameter and 7" long and the screen filter is in that.

Thanks, I'll look for it there tomorrow. I was guessing it was a cleanable screen somewhere since there was no spin on filter.

Would love to get my hand on one of these but with gas 3.52 a gal. I drive to Cali form Mississippi wouldnt be worth it! Nice find though!:thumbsup:
