... I had all of nine seconds to get used to what most people get nine months to get used to the idea of. Four years ago today we got a phone call asking if we wanted a two week old baby to care for. An hour and a half later he was at our home. We had no idea if we would become a forever family... but we jumped at the chance to help and left it to fate. It took nearly two years, but it finally became a reality and it was well worth the wait. He is such a blessing!

We were foster parents for some years. The last foster came to us at 5 days old, his mom left him in the hospital when she left. He's 27 now and just left for his night job.

Same thing happened to my parents. They didn't have any baby supplies and only had a couple of hours of notice. I spent the first night in a dresser drawer lined with blankets...lol. My parents had to borrow stuff from people because all the stores were closed and that was before Wal-Mart

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

(You are a good Father, that is really a neat play mansion you built for your son.)

My wife was adopted by her father. Single father for 27 years. Zero family. Lots of hardships for him. Great man, was sorry to see him pass, but raised a beautiful daughter. He'll every day be present with her. God bless you for being who you are!!

Thank you for all of those years of stepping up to the plate.

Thanks, y'all are far too kind and generous with your praise.

These are not necessarily in chronological order and I posted pretty much just those that were already hosted. I could go nuts with the amount of pictures that we have... I have taken the advise to take lots of pictures to heart.

Then we headed to Galveston where Isaiah had his 1st dip in the Gulf of Mexico.

Isaiah's reaction to the Gulf of Mexico (fearless bee line toward the water) prompted us to enroll him in swimming classes at "Mr. Fish". At 18 months he could swim for more than 6 feet under water.

Trip to the zoo with Isaiah's friend Mia. I noticed them holding hands and took this picture, then I tried to get one from in front of them but they caught me and the moment was gone.

Looking at Isaiah's pictures and reading this thread is a good way to start the day. He's a happy, handsome boy. I bet some day he will be on a high school or college swimming team.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting, you should be proud. It brings warmth to a person's heart to see a child having a good up bringing.
