Sorry to say that I haven't visited TBN since 5/2/7! Did I miss anything important??

The Kohler engine in my PT-425 is running sweet as ever.

A wheel motor needed a new bearing, but that was easily fixed.

My battery died. The only replacement available from WalMart didn't fit the OEM battery box, but my 4 1/2" side grinder fixed that.

I bent a fang on my grapple bucket, but my rigid conduit bender did the dental work.

Otherwise we are "living happily ever after"!!

Moss, but more importantly does he feel that Power Tracs are cheaper?

I'm sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

I am a Power Trac lurker and did enjoy the debate. I wouldn't mind having a 425 to compliment my JD 4310 some day.

Fourteen. You reckon that wheel bearing failure was caused by the reversed wheels. Just curious.

PT may be more or less expensive than CUT, but there is no question that they are unique, of great value on any project, and not 'cheap' in any way!! Nothing else can do as many jobs as well as a PT can! Mine has been invaluable, is the best, most versatile tool I own, and the first tool I reach for when starting any job! I have used my PT-425 for over 350 hours (no grass cutting or snow plowing). When it comes to 'bang for the buck', the PT is nuclear!!

I have no way of knowing for sure, but it would seem highly unlikely since the failure was in the left REAR wheel motor. Even if the failure was reversed wheel induced, the repair is a tiny price to pay for the safety, versatility, stability, and comfort provided by those REVERSED WHEELS for over 350 hours! I still highly recommend reversed wheels for every job with the possible exception of mowing a flat yard!
