Fox Den on my property.

I have an area about 75 feet from my back porck to the edge of the woods,the ground is all boulders and sand, the foxes have made a den in there. My woodchucks and most of squirrells are gone,the foxes look pretty healty. I went to my dumpster last evening,when I put in the trash,the fox was behind me on the wall,he or she started yipping and startled me,I stood there barking at her and she was yipping back,she didn't come any closer,I think she was trying to keep me away from the backyard and the den. When will the foxes leave or will they? I have dogs in a fenced yard but they can sense the foxes. plowking

Our foxes moved on when things got too busy. They don't like to be around people. Mama fox did try to steal a fish from me one evening but other than that they were pretty shy.

We have a pile of stumps/trees/slash about the size of a house that is 500-600 feet from the house. A fox family dug a den in there years ago and used it during pup season. We have not seen them in a while. I think I hear them to our south yipping on some nights.

I used to find chicken feathers and eggs. The foxes where using our driveway and trails to get to someone to our south that had chickens. I found parts from at least a half dozen chickens. Plus eggs. Those foxes were eating more chicken than we were.

One Sunday morning I was cooking pancakes and saw a fox heading west up our driveway that connects to a trail aka the FoxSuperHighway. About 30 minutes later saw the fox running back to the den with a chicken.

It was Sunday so I guess he needed one for the Sunday dinner.

They have either moved on or the person raising Chickens finally got 'em. But I did find deer parts near the den this winter so I think they are still around feeding on road kill.

They were pretty skittish and stayed away from us.
