I can稚 stand people that litter either but I don稚 know how you chock it up to being the franchises fault. That痴 as bad as the guns kill people or the spoons make people fat argument. The source of pretty much every problem is a people problem not a product they?*e using problem.

That's fair. But the litter I pick up almost certainly came from the nearest franchise or maybe the next nearest franchise. Point is, collectively, all the litter "returned" by a community would end up where it came from. Civil disobedience can work. They spend billions convincing us that their food is the best or the cheapest, and they ARE masters of manipulating consumers. Why not spend part of that ad budget encouraging their customers not to be dicks? Best chance of that is when the cleaning up after themselves is more expensive than encouraging customer responsibility.

I told my father how disgusted I was at neighbors that throw Beer cans on the road out front of our place. AT ten cents a piece, he thinks it's GREAT! lol

Is ten cents a piece a deposit charged in Canada or has the price of aluminum gone up. Twenty odd years ago they brought what I called a pittance.

We still have to pay to have an appliance evacuated. The last time that I knew it was a $15.00 fee per fridge. A lot of towns charge disposal fees for white goods, even back when the price of scrap was high. Then they don't understand why so many refrigerators, washing machines, and couches get dumped on the side of the road... along with the tires and bags of trash which people don't want to pay to get rid of.

I've never paid for a evac fee at the scrap yard as far as I know. They may have deducted it without me even knowing. I've hauled off very few refrigerators in my scrapping days.

I just dropped off a dump trailer load, with a freezer and a bunch of mixed other stuff (not metal), at a recycling place.
No extra charge for the freezer compressor.
The local MUNICIPAL facility DOES charge extra for freon items.
