Nope. They print every endoresment you carry on the license. How the frig would the enforcement officer know otherwise???

Are you telling me that if you required eye glasses and got caught without them, the officer wouldn't know unless he asked you?

You have an air brake endorsement, correct?

It would therefore be printed on your license if you have one right?

We, in the US, don't have an air brake endorsement.

Eye glasses is a restriction.

I think Duffster is saying is that in the US they don't print anything extra on your license if you pass the air brake tests. However, if you don't take and pass the air brake tests, then you will have a restriction noted on it that you can't drive air braked vehicles.
This is what I have encountered.

Well, let's see here. On the front of my KY license I have class = DA, Endorsements = XPT, restrictions = 1, L

Going to the back, Class DA -Operator/CDL Endorsements; x-Tank/Hazmat; P-Passenger; T-2 or 3 trailers; CDL - Restrictions; L-No Class A Bus. DL-Restrictions; 1-Corr.Lens

Don't see a thing about airbrakes. Take that as a yes, I can drive air brakes. Stage coach yes, no school bus.

Oh yes, I see one other endorsement. A big orange sticker that says organ donor. If I don't need them anymore, perhaps someone can use them.

I remember the "bad old days" when I was barely 17. Boss man pointed to a dump truck and said go pick up a load of...

Somewhat trying to get back towards the topic here, another aspect of using a commercially licensed rig is alcohol. Let's say you have a horse trailer with living quarters and in your fridge, you have a bottle of scotch, some fine "KY" bourbon, etc. Technically, you are not supposed to have alcoholic beverages in a commercial vehicle.

This is really stretching things but it is something to consider. Also, consider that with a CDL in your wallet, you can be driving your personal car and your allowable BAL is half what it would be otherwise. This is not stretching things.

Lastly, you are held to a higher standard. One little ole' marker light being out could cost you.
