Pete,

That is a very good point!! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Guess I'll just tell the neighbors it is a special version of a swale...and that I just "can't quite remember what it's called". Think they will buy that???

I'm considering a French drain to take care of the middle of my 2 acre dog training field. The field is close enough to level, but the middle is lower than the edges and several sloping acres drain through. I'd like to keep the trench shallow so I can dig it myself; maybe a foot of cover above the pipe. Maximum frost depth in my area is listed as 56", although foundations and water lines are commonly installed 48" down. Will the corrugated poly pipe survive the winters if it is only a foot down?
