A friend is buying some land in south Georgia west of Gray. He wants a tractor big enough to handle a 5' bush hog. He would like to have 4wd and FEL. What model would yaw recommend? Any dealers in that area?

YM2310D, YM2420D, YM2610D would all be really good choices. Nice, strong, powershift tranny, good U.S. parts support.

I have a 3110D ( around 31 hp some say that it's more than 31 H.P.)that has been a good tractor . Handles a 5 cutter well. There is a guy that post on here spalding tractors (I think ) somewhere in GA. I bought mine from fredricks equip. (importer)in north AL. He sells them now with all the safety equipment already installed

I like the newer F series models, The step through design makes gett'n on/off a little easier, like the shifter on the right fender and creep range is separate and not just another gear. The powershift is nice and the UFO control can make life a little easier if you use 3pt mounted implements.

All depend upon where you live and what the dealers in your area sell and support.

Agree with Prodaddy on size. My F24 handles a 5' rotary cutter with ease but a lot depends upon what you are trying to cut on how much power is needed.

I am suprised you are recommending an Oliver tractor! Maybe a 550?

All the bigger Yanmars are nice! Tell him to go with the powershift transmission.

I guess that made not sense to you. I meant to say I am suprised that you did not recommend an Oliver tractror. Sorry.

The real point I wanted to say is that the power shift transmissions on the Yanmars are really good......

Thanks Great, I am an Oliver fan but don't own one. I've heard through my brother (who does own an Ollie) that our friend may have bought a JD 790 with 4wd and fel.

Those work too. They are really Yanmars! I also am an Oliver fan and do not own one.
