"Friendly Politics" request

As a relatively new user I do not have access to Friendly Politics, yet some threads I have posted to have apparently been moved there (took me a while to figure out what happened to them, saw they were moved but then couldn't access when I click on).

Now that I know about it I support the general idea of keeping political stuff out of the other topics, and trying to tamp down inevitable flame wars. But the limiting of access to it to new users causes some unfairness. For example, I hope that when the moderators move threads there, they delete the posts of members who can't see them and therefore can't see or respond to any replies to what they said!

Anyone can enter or leave Friendly Politics at any time.
If you look at the sticky labeled "Accessing Off Topic and Politics Forums" at the top of this forum, there are directions there on how to access it (quoted below):

Hello Everybody,

For the past couple of years, we have had two off topic forums for members who wish to talk about topics other than tractors with their tractor-loving friends.

Up until this point, the off topic Front Porch was available to all members who had at least 50 posts, and the Friendly Politics forum was accessible only by request.

Starting now, both of these forums will be accessible only by request.
