Heck with Eddie, I may have to come over there. Although I saw 10 deer last night, didn't have my binoculars, which was a bummer because it was getting late and dark, and I think one of them was a nice buck.

I am hoping to have pictures of some growth in the food plot by weeks end. The weather here has been better than we could have hoped for the food plot, 70's with rain. Doesn't get much better than that in Michigan in October. Although I am ready for highs in the 50's and 60's, I like fall weather. I have a feeling we are going to go straight from summer to winter and skip the fall weather alltogether.

John,

YOUR KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha

Awesome buck!!! Your food plots are sure doing a great job. I've never seen a whitetail of that quality around here, but know they are around. There was one buck that got hit by a car close to here last year that was close to a book deer. Across my front road, a guy shot a 160 buck three years ago.

Toro,

You are confusing South Texas, or maybe West Texas with where I live. Here in East Texas, we have extreme humidity for about four months of summer. I've lived in Indonesia and West Africa, and it's just as bad here as it was there!!!!

I have 68 acres that I'm slowly opening up, cutting roads and trails through. The more I clear, the more wildlife we see!!! My food plot location is just now starting to take shape, but I still have a few hundred yards of dirt to move before I'm ready to get started.

Eddie

OK, so the growth isn't coming as fast as I would like, but here is a pic. You can see some of the growth coming up, although there are a lot of leaves on the ground already.

You got a late start. You can try frost seeding with clovers in late winter / early spring when the snow is melted and the temps are still freezing at night.

I still have a bit of faith that this will take, we have been in the mid seventies until today. Still no temps below, or even close to freezing with a bunch of rain. And there is a lot of growth, it is just still very small. I can live with that. I need to get my trail camera and hook it up so I can see what has been through there. I will try to get some pics from it this week.

Ok, so I have a couple pictures to post, they are ok. I think I would have had a lot more, but in most of the morning pictures the sun was shining straigth into the lens so they were totally whited out. When I take it back out I will readjust positioning. Have one looks to be a small 4 point, and one looks to be a doe scared by the flash. She almost looks like a kangaroo.

Well, the growth is still minimal, but the deer are visiting. I saw a button buck and a nice four point this evening. Going to change where I sit if I can get out tomorrow and hopefully get one.
