If anyone here has switched wood furnaces from the older type (such as an Englander) to the newer epa types such as PSG Caddy, Energy King 385, Kuuma, Blaze King Apex etc. I would like to know your thoughts. From what I am seeing, fireboxes seem smaller on the new types so burn times are not 12 hours but more like 6-10. Wood usage is alleged to be reduced because more heat energy is being utilized instead of going up the chimney. Just seeing if practice is matching manufacturer claims while still providing heat comfort.

We definitely use much less wood in our wood stove PE Summit) than we did with the old wood furnace (Hotblast).
