Kubota b2150
I was looking my tractor over the other day(B1750 two wheel drive) and noticed that there is some end play in the front axle. It looks to me like there is a pin and bushing similar to a suspension pivot or connector bushing on a semi-tractor. Has anyone ever replaced this bushing in their tractor? Or is this a job that is best left to my local Kubota dealer? I'm assuming that the bushing would need pressed in and out, which I should be able to do at our shop. I'm mostly concerned with the unknowns, such as how far should the bushing be protruding from either side (if any)? And any other information I would need to know, such as are there shims and etc.

Thanks

Gene

A 2 wheel drive 1750, don't see too many of them. Is the play fore and aft like there's too much space between the axle and the frame? Or is the wear in the bushing and pin. I've seen a few that could stand a few more shims. Now as long as it's not one of the ones that Kubota played a cool trick like, putting the bolt in from the back prior to installing the front portion of the frame so you can't get it out without removing the frame because the head of the bolt hits the engine,/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif it's a pretty simple repair.

When I first posted this question I thought it was a simple matter of fore and aft play. It now appears to me that I need a bolt and bushing. The bolt is held in place with a nut on the back side of the axle and on the front side of the axle, instead of having a normal bolt head there are 2 smaller bolts that go through a plate and into the front axle brkt on the frame. We have a stationary press where I work that we use for pressing bushings for radius rods on trucks and we have some portable presses for pressing pivot and axle connector bushings for air ride suspensions on semi-trailers. I was hoping one of the portables would do the trick.

I'm sorry for such a late reply to your post, I would greatly /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif appreciate any advice you could give me!!!

Pretty straight forward Gene, knock the old one out and put the new one in. Glad to see they did'nt reverse the bolt on that one.
