BX2200
Being new to owning a tractor not sure if this is normal or a problem. I own a BX2200 with 30 hours on it. Yesterday I was checking the fluids when I open the front axle dip stick a rush of air came out of the axle and the fluid was down. I went to the local dealer to purchase UDT and asked him if this was noraml and he told me it maybe leaking to check the front end. The BX2200 is always parked in the same place inside and I see no marks on the axle or tires showing a leak. I did not prior to this check the fluid it may have been low from day one. Is this noraml to have to add fluid like this?

I don't own a BX but the fluid in the front axle of my L3010 was right where it should be at 50 hours. If there isn't any evidence of a leak, I would bet it wasn't filled properly, if at all, from the beginning. Did you check to see if there was any fluid in there? I would check before I topped it off and have a talk with the dealer if it was empty

Brings up an interesting question I read on another thread but don't think there was an answer. Is there or is there not a vent on the axles of these tractors. Maybe it's not necessary as on a car because of the lower speeds. I'm not too sure I like the sound of air build up as it could cause some seepage by the seals when working it hard. Could be that when you shut down the pressure backs off enough that you don't have a puddle in your garage but are blowing some by while in use. Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure what you have is a tractor that was delivered to you without having the front axle fluid up to specs. If the axle was leaking, im sure you'd see it somewhere, probably on the inside of the front wheels, even if it was only during hard use, it would still leave a dirt collecting film that is easily seen.

Fill it up to specs, use it, and check it now and then..l.you'll figger out in a hurry if you are leaking.

not too familiar with the bx, but i would bet u got a tractor that was not full of fluid when u got it. any leak either when using or when it was sitting would show some sign of oil someplace.. if i were u i know i would have a very serious talk with your dealer.

Thanks for the feed back. After checking today the level in the axle was OK. But I found 2 pins missing on the FEL. Looks like the prep done by the Dealer was POOR at best. Know where NOT to take it for service.

Thanks again ALL.

i would make sure the dealer is aware of the shoddy delivery! and i would also make sure that he and KUBOTA is aware of the fact that he delivered a tractor that was not prepped right. there is no excuse for that .

As I understand Kubota, they are fussy. IMHO, inform your dealer and Kubota separately.
