The front axle pin came out on my Ford 861. I guess front end loaders are indeed hard on the front axle parts. The pin is the heavy duty threaded style (part # 312659) and that part seems readily available.

I cannot find the front axle pin bushing (part # 312661) anywhere on the internet. My local New Holland dealer carries it but the price is $153. That seams awfully high to me. Anyone kjow where else I can find this bushing?

Seems odd that the pin is readily available but not the bushing.

Thanks.

I checked and the OD of my bushing is roughly 2 3/32 inches.

Most of the ones I see are 2.18 or 2.19 OD roughly 2 3/16 OD. Was your bushing wore thru and your hole waddled out at all? Since most axle bushings sell for between $4/$15 no way would I pay the amount the dealer quoted you. If you can't find it I would get the axle pin and bushing close enough and take the axle down to the machine shop and have them machine the axle to fit the bushing. I doubt if the cost will be that high plus next time you need the bushing it will be in the $4/$15 range. You can call around to a couple of shops to get a ballpark price.

According to the New Holland online parts store, the OD of the $ 153 beauty is 2.124 in (actually listed as 53.95 mm). The bushing was not wore much at all. A piece of it broke off and left me with 75% of a bushing.

The hole was slightly waddled, but not much play between the two. I have determined that a 2 1/8" OD bearing should do the job.

I ordered one shipped ftom ASB Bearings for $24. I will report back how it works.

I am also a bit concerned that the threads that accept the axle pin may be wore. I will find out when the new pin arrives as the male threads on the old pin are wore badly.

easy to get around either issue as you can make a keeper tab / tack weld.

as for the bushing fit to the axle, if it is wore, you can weld and grind or braze and grind if you want a super tight fit.

When I did my Jub.... The hole was so worn and cracked I spent not much more than that on a new axle with bushing installed!
