I have been looking at different options for a front plow to go on my 7308 loader. Some of the other posters have suggested getting the quick attach for my setup. Below is a price I got from a local dealer. Seems like a lot of money. Please let me know if this is normal or not.

Thanks
Bob

I'm not quite sure I understand all your abbreviations, but the numbers seem big.

I have a tractor due soon with the QA bucket and plate. I think the price difference was in neighborhood of $200, with the dealer keeping the pin-on bucket.

I think I can weld up a heavy steel plate to fit the QA loader easily enough -- call it my frame. I have taken my old 3 point blade apart. The blade proper pivots in a heavy bushing arrangement, and is locked in place through the simple expedient of holes in a flat steel plate lining up with a hole in the frame. If you have an old back blade lying around, look at how it works. All you need to do is have someone fashion a way to attach the pivot assembly to a plate that fits your QA points on the FEL. It shouldn't be a big deal to someone with metalworking experience.

You're right, it does seem like a lot of money. Get a price on the QA adapter that fits your FEL. Go to a welding shop and ask about the rest. Take some pictures or a drawing and see what they can do for you.

Rich,

Just got pricing from my local guy. $700 for the quick attach that goes on the 7308 loader. $175 for the QA adapter that goes on the bucket. They have to cut the mounts off and then weld the QA adapter to the bucket. Still seems like 5 hours at $70 per hour is hefty. I am going to check some local fabricator guys that might be able to do the work.

Thanks
Bob

I ordered mine for a tractor that was sitting on the lot. The QA system has a different bucket -- it holds a bit more material, is a slightly different shape. Guess I was wrong on the cost, but I can check. That seems like a lot for the QA plate that pins on the arms.
