Kubota BX25
I have a Kubota BX25 Just bought it , does anybody know if their is a audible front bucket level indicator ? I'm legally blind and can't tell if front bucket is flat on the ground without getting off the tractor. or if their is a level indicator made for front end loaders.

Mine has a rod that slides as the bucket curls. I've seen the same type of thing on Kubotas, just not sure which models. It may be something you can order from the parts dept of your local dealer, I'm sure people must snag and or destroy them from time to time. It would also be very simple to build one, just weld on a small piece of pipe and attach a rod that will be pulled/pushed through when the bucket curls. Look at one on the dealers lot to see how it's done.

No disrepesct intended whatsoever, but if you cannot see if the bucket is on the ground without getting off the tractor, how the heck do you operate the tractor at all? Very curious what you are doing with this machine.

One could be made by installing limit switch and beeper on loader arm. I do not know of anything commercially available. Another option would be to turn a light on and off on the dash. That way the beeping would not irritate you.

Good luck and have fun with your new tractor!

Yeeaah, I'm a bit curious about that myself. If I remove my glasses, I'm legally blind also. I can see enough to get around. I could drive 20-30 mph without running into stuff, I could avoid most obstacles on the road; but I wouldn't be able to spot small stuff like broken glass or other debris in the road before I ran over it. And I'd be much less likely to spot kids about to run into the road; which is why it's not legal for me to drive without prescription eyeglasses. So while you can operate the tractor, there is a higher degree of risk involved.

You could file notches in the rod at the lower end of the tube that could click against something you could hear. You would have to come up with your own system as to where to put the notches and count the clicks. If it's just a level bucket at ground level that is important, you could put three notches close together with the center one marking level. That way, whether you were going up, or down, the second click would be level.

I have some vision in one eye. I find ways to get things done. I can run the tractor fine just can't see if bucket is level. I try and not let my blindness get the best of me. Have to keep moving on . I just can't see well enough to drive on the roads.

There is no audible alert. There is a visual indicator, but I still have not figured out how to use it...

I congratulate you on your attitude - a man has to know his limitations, but should never let them fence him in! I have a back that is pretty well fused, but I manage to get a lot done despite the pain & lack of mobility, thanks in part to my trusty tractor. Here's what my loader has for a bucket level indicator - should be very simple to knock something similar together for your BX:

Hope it gives you some ideas - good luck!
