Can anyone tell me the purpose of the pipe on the front drive shaft of my l3560? I noticed a rattling when tractor is moving and found it to be the spacer on the drive shaft. I'm trying to figure out what is purpose is. There is 2 o-rings, 1 at each end of the spacer. I would assume the o-rings worked there way out from in between the spacer and the shaft causing the rattle.

I noticed mine making a noise on my L3650 recently. It had apparently been doing it for awhile but I didn’t notice it until I roaded the tractor to our church.

Not real hard to replace. On mine I jacked up one front wheel to allow me to turn the shaft.

Dropping one sides brake arm allowed easier driving of the retainer pin.

My bearing was still good but the rubber bearing holder had disintegrated.

Does anyone know what the purpose of this pipe spacer is? My L3650 is the same way...

The green rubber one has a sealed bearing that goes in it. I can only guess to take some of the driveshaft vibration.
The black rubber one is a seal for the tubes.

If the parts are bad you cant keep the tubes together. Mine was bad enough it broke the mounts on the oil pan.
