Front End Attachment Options

I was told recently that the hydraulics on the front end of CUTs are not "fast" (hyd. pump flow rate) enough to operate attachments that a typical Bobcat/Skid Steer would run. The reason I ask is that a friend suggested that I get the 3rd function hydraulics option so that I can rent these attachments and use them on my soon to come CUT. Thoughts?

That info is correct. most CUT's have a flow rate of 5-10 GPM, and SSL's use a lot more flow, plus they are often to heavy to be useful on a CUT.

The 3rd function is useful for light duty grapples and 4n1 buckets.

So, this is correct. CUT's across the brands range 5-10GPM.

Most skidsteers run 25+GPM. Some, run 30+GPM "High-Flow". My buddies Bobcat S185 is 16.9gpm standard, 26.4 high-flow. Some of the smaller Bobcats are 13-14 gpm.

To run a hydraulic implement, you would need to add an auxillary system, ie PTO hydrualic pump, remote tank ect. It would be kinda like the 3pt backhoes that use a PTO pump for hydraulics.

You have to be careful too; some of the SS/CTL implements are heavy too...

A CUT would be OK for non-powered hyd. implements (or what do you call them)...Example: 4-in-1 bucket, grapple, etc...You can't run implements that have a hyd. motor powering them...Example: snowblower, chipper, broom, tiller...etc...There are also smaller 3rd function implements designed for CUT's...
