Seeders front end loader /cone seeder

First i gotta say.. wow!.. how did I ever get by without a front end loader.. makes work around the farm sooooo easy.

Now.. on to business. here's that 150$ seeder i bought. Have free'd up the pto shaft and lubed the box, had to wash it 3 times to get it completely degreased. Used simple green, and purple stuff. Did a sparay and soak, then spray and brush.. then spray and rag wash. Ran out of light.

Next morning off is friday, I plan on getting up early and priming it, and then shooting it back red ( IH red seems to match perfectly ).

That is a serious seeder. I bought one at an auction for 20 bucks, 1/4 the size of yours and I was looking for the flexible shaft and the drive mechanism. I plan to make a larger hopper out of some left over steel. I think you got a great buy. That should last a long time and has a good capacity.

Funny you mention flex shaft ones. I bouhgt this to repalce a flex shaft one that finally bit the dust. I've been patching on it and welding on it for years to keep it going.. but finally the hub at the bottom rusted away, and with it most of the drive parts.. add to that.. I can't find parts for it... so I -had- to get a new one... I may try to jury rig the old one again to use it for fertalizer or something like that.. but I like this cone one much better.

Newby question: where did you get that one-armed FEL? Looks like it's some sort of hay bale handler.

It's a ford 722 loader.. similar to a 711 loader.. except the 711 was a hyd up / trip dump, and the 722 is hyd up, and hyd dump.

It's rated for 2000# so I guess it would tote a round bale.. but I don't think I'd try it...I'd prefer to just use a rear spear on my 5000 or 7610s fords. ( that tractor is a 1955 ford 660, and the 722 loader is probably a late 50's model. )
