OK. I don't know what they call this thing so I am referring to it as a gizmo. Its that little stick looking thing that goes on the fel that lets you know when your bucket is flat on the ground. Does anyone know if those are available for any loader? Are they available through Mahindra? I can usually get it pretty close, but when it really matters it would be nice to know for sure.

I believe that I have seen them on the smaller Mahindras. I would think that they would have them for the larger ones also.

They are bucket level indicators and I've seen them on John Deeres and Kobotas for sure. I recall seeing a design for one on here a number of years ago. Tried a search but couldn't find it. Maybe someone else recalls a better name to use for the search. The design is fairly simple, its a metal rod that attached at the bucket mounting point and a piece of pipe that attaches up on the boom, with the rod passing through it. You just have to calibrate it with some paint. You might check out some tractor dealers to get a visual idea of how they work.

Everyone that has talked about how the gauge is adjusted, has said that the level point it marked with paint on the rod. MF must do theirs a little different. The tube is adjusted so that it is level with the end of the rod when the bucket is level. That way you only have to worry about seeing the rod, /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif not trying to see a painted spot.

As far as I know, BLI's are standard on all Mahindra loaders. If for some reason yours does not have one, your dealer should be able to get one for you. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can make your own for about $10.00. I was going to list all the parts and how to do it, but I don't know how to make a diagram and put it on this thread. I made my own for my 3710 Kubota in about 1/2 hour.

My 4110 came with a M112 loader that had it on it.

Jerry--

I'm not sure it's the manufacturers doing it different; my New Holland dealer said "get the bucket where you want it and cut the rod off." I agree with you that it's a lot easier to just see it rather than worry about a paint spot.

Slippy:

If you want, I can e-mail the diagram along with a materials list to you. You will need a small welder as the bracket that hold's the indicator rod tube has to be welded.

You maybe right. It may be the dealers that are doing it different. It wouldn't surprise me.
