Front End Loader on BX23 not raising

Hello all,

I am doing multiple yard projects, and tonight after using the macine with great success, I went to dump some yard waste, and the front end loader on my BX23 would not raise. It would not lower in the lower position either, but float position dropped it right down. The rollback and dump positions are fine, and I took off the FEL and mowed the lawn no problem. I also checked all of the hydraulic connections before removing the FEL, and everything looked OK. But the bucket simply will not raise.

Any Ideas? This might be my first warranty service where I'll have to bring the machine in.

Sounds like your quick connects may not be "makeing" all the way.
With the engine off, bleed down the FEL in all directions, disconnect them then reconnect them, making sure you get them all the way on.

If by chance you can't get them back on, that means that the FEL is still pressurized. To relieve the pressure, take the blunt end of a 3/8ths socket extention and place it inside the connector, wrap a rag around the connector and depress the socket ext into the connector, sometimes it's easy sometimes it's harder to depress. WHat you're depressing is the center pin. Once the hydro fluid squirts out the pressure is released and you should be able to reconnect.

Check to make sure the hydraulic control lever (the one that controls the raising and lowering of the 3pt hitch) in inthe neutral postion. I've found on my BX-22 that if it was in the raise postion,the FEL stops working. I was in the same postion as you when I first got my machine. Found the solution by accident.

This happened to me also. Luckily I had read about it here first so I didn't panic

Does kinda sound like the QD on one side of the lift spool is not working. Putting the spool in float and having the loader fall means at least one of the spool work ports is connected correctly since float puts both ports to tank.

You can always swap the lift ports with the curl ports and see if the problem changes.

You might also check your fluid level mine was/is at least a qt of udt low (all I had) first check in 15 hrs on mach but the neutral pos of 3 pt as well as BH connection I have found causes same problem esp connecting BH hose if it isn't attached.

Ditto on the quick connects.....double and triple check them . Every time I have had a similar problem with the bucket not lowering......that was the problem.
