Hello,
Does any one have any thoughts on the way to go for front forks on a tc35 with a 16la loader. The 16la does not have the quick release bucket. I will be using them to move pallets as well as lumber. Any thoughts will be much appreciated!

Best Regards,
Steve Gill

Steve, since you won't be removing your bucket, the only kinds of forks you can use are the ones that clamp on or use chain binders to attach to the bucket lip. I have a set that uses the chain binders. They are not nearly as stable as ones that use the QA system like PineRidge has, but they are easy to install. Since they sit out on the front edge of the bucket, you also lose a lot of lift. I'd say at least 1/3 because the bucket is dead weight and the forks are so far forward of the bucket pins. Here's a picture of my forks.

If you're going to be doing a lot of switching back and forth you may want to get the QA and a dedicated set of pallet forks. Plus it will increase your overall lifting capacity like Jim said.

I agree with PineRidge. Can you get the quick attach put on the loader arms you already have and then be able to use the quick attach forks. It is more expensive, but I use mine more than anything I have. I also think that if I had to do too much to get them on I would probably not use them as often. I don't think twice about snapping them on for a short simple task. They hold a lot more weight and with the QA setup, you will also be able to get other QA tools later down the road. I also like the tall back on the QA forks being able to haul huge brush piles. I have hauled tree roots with them by pushing the forks to the right width. I don't know how I did without them. Paul

Jim, Pine Ridge, Randy, and Paul,
First of all thank you for the input! I appreciated it. What does it take to turn the loader assembly and bucket into QA. Does NH make a kit for that? Or? I went online and found nothing for NH QA on this loader assembly.

Best regards,
Steve

My QA setup was purchased directly from the NH dealer although I'm sure another manufacturer makes them. I might suggest looking around a bit at eBay, maybe you'll get lucky and save some $$$$

NH's kit consists of two parts. The first is the adapter plate that fits onto the loader arms. That's the one with the QA levers for locking the attachments in place. Mine was about $360, but the price may have gone up recently.

The second part is the adapter plate that has to be welded to your bucket. The pin-on adapter has to be cut off and the plate welded in it's place. If you search for recent posts by user "mikim", you can see how he put his adapter onto the bucket. The plates can be bought for about $100 and then the weld job will be about $150 to $200 if you have it done. All-in-all you can expect to pay at least $600 for the conversion. It's worth every penny of that and more. Suddenly, you will swap implements so easily, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. Recommended...

what Jim said .... I forget exactly what I paid to convert mine ... I know it wasn't cheap - but it was worth twice whatever the exact cost. Maybe that's why I don't remember the cost - because it just doesn't matter -- I am so glad I did it. here's a pic -- an after and a why I wanted to doit (grapple)--- loader forks are also on my list for "someday" but when that comes I'll be all set. estimated cost: ~$430 for the qa on the tractor side --- $100 for the qa plate to weld to the bucket -- and I had it welded on - on a Fri --for $70. I had cut the old brackets off, hit the bucket with the grinder and was ready to weld on the plate when I ran out of time -- I needed it done for the weekend and it was thurs night--- called local shop and he fixed me up. It would have taken me half a day cause I'm no hand at it .... it took him probably 10 minutes. and I got a better job done on it. You can just buy a new bucket ... but it costs a lot more and then what do you do with the old one?
