I am looking at getting a front grapple for the CT230. Looks like WildKat has some pretty good deals and reviews. I have one set of rear remotes already. I have read people using these to run the front stuff. How convenient is it reaching to the lever to adjust the hydraulics? Where do you find the FEL lever mod to put a toggle on the lever? I believe it is called the third function or something like that.

Thanks,

I am getting close to adding front aux as well and debating the pros & cons of 3 systems.
1. Use the rear remote
Pro - simple to install, just adding hoses and couplers
Con - 2 lever use
current lever is low and partially tucked under the seat.
If I used this method I would extend the lever up closer to
the joystick
2. Use electric diverter valve and operate with the curl function
Pro - 1 hand, 1 lever operation
Fairly simple installation - tee into bucket lines
Con - Cost of the valve (hoses & fittings will about equal to option 1).
Manufacturer suggests removing the Regen spool for bucket dump
(accidentally going into regen with grapple would close the grapple)

3. Use WR Long system or similar with indivdual purchase parts
Pro - All functions on the joystick but not tied in with curl
Offers potential to fnction all 3 simultaneously
WR Long kit comes with nice handle, swithes already mounted
Con - Little more cost than #2

I still haven't decided but am leaning towards using the rear remote at first, see how I like. Can always add 1 of the other control options later.

I ran a set of hoses from the rear remote for use with my front snow blade. It was the least expensive route for me to get power angling. It took two 14' hoses to run up to where the loader arms turn down toward the Bobtach. I mounted two quick connects there to a bracket that bolts into some preexisting holes in the loader arms.

It ran a little over $200 in materials and works well for what I'm doing. But, I think I personally would opt for something that works with the loader joystick if I was using a grapple.

TBN member Wallace sells both Bobcat tractors and the third function kits. You might want to try sending him a PM for some suggestions and pricing.
