In the market for a front mount mower 60"-72" , Prefer diesel. Anyone have some input as to their experience between brands? I currently have a Cub cadet Z force? with 50" deck that I use in town. Looking to back that up and replace my Toro lawn tractor and scotts lawn mower. Both of those being 48". I have planted bunch of trees and need easier mowing. Thanks

Im not compleatlly shure but if you want it diesel powerrd front mount then you only have two choices. Walker or Grasshopper if you want a 72 inch deck then maby just the Grasshopper. Walkers are much to slow for side discharge mowing so id look at the Grasshoppers.

I use a JD F935 72" front mount 3 cyl diesel. Its an older model but very trusty. Hook my grass vac up to it. Kubota has a similar model. Look on eBay to see what these mowers look like. The 930, 932, and 935's have very fast ground speed. There are some optional attachments (plow, broom) fo it, and I can run my pto alternater off of it.

In addition to Grasshopper...Woods also makes a nice front mount ZTR.

Another top notch unit to check out is Toro - many used in professional applications for years.

Front mounts have a place and sounds like you could use one but they are not very popular. Main reason is the commercial guys need to get 2-3 mowers on a tandem axle trailer and a front mount just takes up too much room. I maintain mowers for a commercial operation and they have never owned a front mount and either has our 2-3 main competitors in our area.

Good luck in your search.

I've had a GH front mount diesel mower for over 2 years now, and love it. I mow my yard, orchard, lanes etc. I have the bar tires and it works great on hills. It also handles rough ground better than most. If you get a GH, the power fold deck and better seat options are both worth the extra cost.

Looking at grasshopper hard. Any ideas on good price(percent off msrp) Have a very, very good dealer 4 miles from me. Probably gonna go see him in a few days. Last time I talked to him acouple of years ago, he offered to bring one out for me to use for a couple of days. He said, " I'd be glad to bring one out cause I know I won't be haulin it back!" That's confidence! Just want a decent deal. Prefer diesel for obvious reasons but open to good deal on gas too. I have a cub cadet mid mount that beats the bejesus out of me. Numerous obstacles to mow around/under.

I have a Woods front mount. Let me just say this, if and when I go to buy another, it will not be a Woods.
