Front mounted Hardee 52 inch Bush Hog

I wanted to share this project.

I had a hardee bush hot that was for a 1 row tractor (farmall) I removed the one point hitch and welded on a homemade three point hitch.

I this mounted a Chinese Hydraulic pump to a skid steer mount plate. It works well.

That's cool. I have several situations where I'd like to bush-hog (or mow) up-front and have been thinking about this. Especially as winter approaches and I need to make a few more snowboard runs every season. I have a fwd-PTO (2500rpm) and would need to add a 4 or 5:1 reduction to run the bush-hog.

Anyway it looks like you have successfully built a tool that you need to get your work done, good job!

I have had all the parts for two years to do exactly what you did.

Your post renewed my interest.

Did you use the 6.15 cu in motor?

6.15 CU IN PTO DRIVE MOTOR

or

4.95 CU IN PTO DRIVE MOTOR

How many GPM are you feeding the motor?

I've also had this bug for awhile but I think I'd like to mount a 36" to the side of the bucket so I can trim under trees and closer to things and maybe even manually convert to vertical for trail maintenance.

For anyone wanting to build a front mount brush hog, here is one designed for the front.


Note the pivot hinge at the top of the quick attach plate.

The front wheel carries half of the weight and the hinge lets it follow the ground contour.

This is one safe way to work under it.

Yep, that is probably better, changed it. I right click and open in new tab, but that takes two clicks.

I put that in the signature because sometimes the back button doesn't work on this forum. With a new window or tab, no back button, just red X it.
