Wanted to open a few irrigation pipe trenches in a new lawn
Used a middle buster in my Landpride From Quick Attach to 3PT adapter. Worked well

You must be the Ginga Rogers of middle busters. Doing all that work going backwards.

Fred Astaire would be equally impressed.

I put an S-hook on the bolt holding the point on my subsoiler. Then drilled a hole in a half inch PVC pipe and attached it to the subsoiler with the hook. Glued twenty feet of pipe on and took off. Pull twenty feet and stop and glue more pipe on. Ran this about 220' making a couple gentle curves to dodge tree roots. Bet I walked a mile or more going back and gluing pipe on then walking back to the tractor and pulling another twenty feet. At the end I was pulling 220' of half inch PVC underground with a 22-hp tractor. Didn't have to fill the trench up and the grass grew back and you couldn't tell where It was buried in a couple months.

A set of pallet forks could do the same job and be moreusefull later. You can also use them going forward.

I have forks and I would not use them to dig. First they don’t dig well. Second doing so would be any easy way to damage my loader. I rarely use the front 3PT. In this case I had the rototiller on the rear and needed a quick trench. Usually I’d use a trencher or the middle buster on the rear of a smaller tractor

I have a big Pittsburg single bottom moldboard plow. I can tear it down until all I have is a single shank ripper. I've used it when I need to run shallow utilities. It has a spring loaded trip mechanism - which, in my case, is VERY handy. All of my 80 acres is underlaid with basaltic lava bedrock. A lot of this bedrock is very close to the surface.

Andy-does your middle buster ever catch on an unmovable object and what happens?
