Front PTO on CK30HST

Looking for suggestions for various uses of the front PTO on above tractor. Has anyone found a winch with clutch or something similar such as as used on the rear for pulling logs, etc from soft ground or swamp that you could not drive on. All suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, from a new member.

I thought it was a good question too, but I guess no one else has any suggestions either. Oh well, now all the owners of similar machines have the same problem. They got this stubby little splined thingy stickin' out front and don't know what to do with it. I'm sure there must be a use some where, but I haven't found one yet and the tractor don't go fast enough to carch the rabbit or what ever it is that you're supposed to catch.

Funny how the frame of the tractor, up at the nose, has a half circle cutout to allow a shaft to be fed over the front PTO stub and run all the way out the front. I would have thought that the engine was so universal that the front PTO was just a product some other application but with the frame cutout there must be a tractor application for this PTO stub.

I had a bulldozer with a front PTO that ran the hydro pump.

You're right Highbeam. There must be a reason for the cutout. Possibly a good place to mount a pump for a separate hydraulic system that could possibly operate a woodsplitter or some other type of equipment that has it's own sump so as not to contaminate the sump of the tractor and HST system. Some of those PTO mounted pumps are expensive and put out some pretty high gallonage for 30 horse tractor. Just some thoughts...................
