I was going to ask the same question today . well i was going to ask about my rears as well, i think ill go with Nb tire for the fronts. im getting rid of my warn out turf tires on the rear and want to get r1'S will i need new rims? i thought i saw that somewhere not too long ago on here and if so any suggestions on where to get them Dealer? online?

Usually you need to get new rims when you change tires. If you tractor is 2 wheel drive you can probably get by with the same rims if you can find a tire that has the same diameter.

The rib tires will slide around less than the truck tires but they will mark up any yard grass if it is wet at all. My tractor is 2 wheel drive and my 3 rib front tires put more marks in the ground than the R1's on the rear.

Truck tires are slippery, leave very little track on a lawn. Can't hadly get traction on snow or loose dirt.

4-rib have pretty good traction, they will leave a bit of a tread in soft lawn.

3-rib tires have best traction, that middle tall rib will bite in and turn your tractor like you want. But,t hey will be hard on lawns.

Depends what you want, all 3 are good options, work.

I have all of the above on my various tractors.

This is for 2-wheel drive; for 4-wheel drive you need to match up the front to rear tire sizes and get the proper tire.

If you can't decide, the 4-rib is probably a nice in between?

My IH3414 loader/backhoe has been wearing the same 750-16 10 ply M&S on the front for the past 24 years with no flats or problems at all, even with heavy loader use in our rocky timberland. Need a little more steering in the mud or snow? I just throw a tire chain on one or both fronts. Tire shops willmake you a deal on take-off tires that are plenty good for a tractor. Mine came off an old 80's Ford F-350. Newer ones are all radial, but I don't expect I would gain much in high speed handling if I switched to them:rolleyes:....Dan.
