Hi, I have a problem with sharp turns on my 3010L with a mid mount mower. When I make sharp turns the front tires plow and kill the grass. Has anyone else had this problem?
Is there any adjustment I can make to correct this problem? It seem to be worse in 4wheel
drive.

Just some general thoughts. Almost all tractors plow on turns when in 4 wheel drive. You might play with the air pressure in your front tires to see if that helps. You might consider a wider front tire. If these turns are made at fast speeds, you might have to reduce the speed on turns. I have a BX2200 with mid mount mower and turf tires. The only time I have trouble with front tires plowing is in 4 WD or when the FEL has a heavy load. Hope these ideas help you find a solution.

Scott different conditions make it hard to correct all the behaviors of a tractor. Do you have to mow in four wheel drive? How fast are you making the corners? Do you have a sandy type of soil? Is the toe-in correct on your tractor? What type of tires do you have?

Art, About 50% of my mowing require four wheel drive. It doesn’t matter at what speed I
turn, it still tears up the lawn. My soil is anything but sandy. I haven’t checked the toe-in,
I’ve only had the tractor for about a month 52hrs on the meter. It has turf tires front and
back.

Hate to say it, but maybe you just have to much weight on the grass with that L. Maybe you coud justify a BX for that duty??? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Scott it's to bad they don't build a L with bi-speed turn. Next step I would recommend is to balance your air pressure in your tires. Without looking at the tractor I can only assume as to why you are having the problem. Do your tires have a full print on the ground? If they are not touching all the way accross the tire than you may have the drive train winding up and releasing when turning. That would be the area I would work in. How does it go into and out of four-wheel drive? If you find it difficult than the balance between front and rear tires air pressure is off.
