Front weight bracket and weights

Built my own front weight bracket and weights for my 1025r. Dad had the 2 "weights" in his garage for years. 1" steel plates that weigh 53 lbs each. Angle iron from the scrap yard weighs 15 lbs. Just had to cut the top wings off and drill some holes.

I added 120 lbs up front, they're not in the way of the fel or my drive over auto connect deck.
Total cost $5

Is this for when the fel is off, or do you need weights for balance when it's on?

a little of both, seems like my bush hog really makes the front end light even with the fel on.

Just a side note-
I remember hearing that guys doing tractor pulls would make "dummy" weights out of balsa wood so when someone else would see how much weight they are using they would be too heavy copying them.

Haha I've never heard of that but totally believe it. Tractor pullers are some of the most innovative/creative people I've ever met!
