Thanks for clearing that up Jims1025R. But I have found that Plexiglass scratches way easier than Lexan? and the Plexi seems to yellow from the sun. I know all the guys that build stock cars here use Lexan.

Again, I'm no expert on it, but everyone I talked to told me I'd be happier with the Lexan on the excavator.
And the way I did it was put hooks on a sheet of Lexan and just hang it on my forestry screen and zip tie the bottom when I am breaking. That way I can take it off when I am just digging and have the nice clear glass windshield still.

I got two days of breaking in so far with it, so we'll see how long it lasts before it gets marked up.

I'm building my 3rd 'windshield' for a piece of equipment. Mainly to protect from mowing/mulching w front mount attachments.

My preferred material is lexan w margard, impact and abrasion resistant. Lots of brush and limb contact, very little wear. I use .375 thickness.
