I am thinking about adding a frontend loader to my tractor. Has anyone added a loader to an existing L3400? Any suggestions on after market frontend loaders. How hard are the loaders to add?
I added an aftermarket loader to my old B8200. It was just old enough, Kubota did not offer anything to fit. The dealer said they could modify the mount kit from a newer B series to fit it, and use a new loader.
Eventually, I went with a Bushhog QA loader. I used it for 10 years before I moved to a bigger tractor. It worked well. I had a local independent shop near me install it. Looking at it, it would have been easy, but heavy, to install.
Be prepared for sticker shock though... Mine was $3100 12 years ago. You would need a larger model. Just a guesstimate based on my experience, but you'll probably have more like $4000 in to a loader for the larger L3400... I would not be surprised if it is a bit more than that even.
I would get the Kubota LA463-1 loader for it. I'm still kickin' myself in the ***** for not getting it with the tractor package I got. It's the quick-attach loader.
