Jim - my boxblade is a Woods GB72 (6 footer). This model has a fixed tailgate and six manually adjustable rippers. According to the brochure I have, it weighs 572#.
I've heard a rule of thumb which seems to be pretty good for boxblades: figure on roughly 100# per foot of width. Much less than that, and they are probably not built heavy enough. Of course, they go up from there: for a lot more $$, you can get a Gill SR20HD (made by Woods) 6 feet wide, 1017#!
