I just picked up my new 48" floating tine forks - they look awesome. I had a set of John Deere forks for my 4720. I really wanted a set for my 5525 (tried to pickup a pallet of mulch with my 4720 - didn't happen). These new forks will fit 200, 300, 400, & 500.

One HUGE improvement is the shaft the tines slide on is now galvanized. My JD set came in rusted so these should be way better.

1 set of forks for 2 tractors = less cost and less stuff to trip over around the place.

Good to hear, I was thinking about getting some forks for my 3520 myself- Is there a John Deere and a Frontier type of forks or is it just the frontier? Is there any disadvantage of the floating versus the fixed forks, they look to be about the same price. Thx,

Not sure if JD makes them any more - maybe.

The floating tines are the way to go in my book. I don't use the collars to hold them in place, but I have never had them move on my. The fixed forks would be good if you picked up the same thing all the time - they are a tad cheaper.

These new forks look pretty impressive. I'll take some pics tonight.

The basic choices: 42" vs. 48" tines Floating vs. fixed

Darin;

That's pretty impressive! You can swap the forks between the various tractors and they're strong enough to handle the loads that the 500 series will lift?

I'm guessing that they'd have to have the JD Q-A system and not skid-steer... no SS for 200 tractors.

Thanks,

AKfish

I think the label on it said 3750lbs.

JD pins - 2 sets not for a skid steer.

Yup, 3,750lbs. would just about cover all the bases.... 200, 300, 400, 500 series loaders -- I'd guess!!

Lookin' forward to your pics.

Thanks.

I can see where the floating tine forks would be an advantage in some situations (like picking up a pallet on uneven ground, etc.), but I went for the fixed tine forks because I thought they might work better for digging up things like rocks and trees.

So far, I've been very happy with them, both for digging and moving pallets, etc. Seems to me that if you try to dig with the floating tines, they will just flip up when you try to put down pressure on them.

I realize most people probably use them for what they were designed for, and not for digging, but they're pretty handy for that too.

Anyway, I have the 42 inch fixed tine forks on a 2520/200cx and LOVE them.

I have a 3720 with a 300cx loader with SS QA. Does Frontier make the forks for the SS QA system? How much are they?

Thanks

I thought the purpose of getting a skid steer adapter was so you could use attatchments other than Deere. I'm betting that Deere does offer forks for skid steers, but Frontier might not. JC
