I like fall with warm days and with the leaves changing color. We hit the freezing mark last night for the first time and Im not looking forward to 6 months of cold and dreary winter in southern Ontario.

I have experienced early winter here in NE WA state also. It's like somebody threw a switch. I've experienced many frosty morning in the last two weeks. The little dusting of snow we got a week ago has all melted but this really cold weather - it's a month or so early this year.

Hey - I came down from AK to get AWAY from the long, dreary winters.

No frost but was 42F this morning in central ohio.

Still waiting on rain though. I dont think we got a drop for the whole month of september. Been good for the farmers with the late start planting because of the wet spring. Getting their harvest times somewhat back on track.

But man.....still got ~60 post holes to drill with the 3PH auger and some moisture in the dirt would sure be a great help. Or....about a ton of weight hanging on the auger

That cold weather will aggravate the rheumatiz. Better be prepared....

A clear, calm, and sunny 28ºF here for today's low temperature. We've had a couple of light frosts the past 2 weeks.

Haven't looked closely, but good layer of frost on windsheild this morning.

Maybe it will put this miserible Tomatoe Season to rest!

A chilly 29F here this morning, frost on the windshield and all the low areas. Expect it will end the corn growing season,
so will need to get every thing chopped before it gets too dry only 3 fields to go.
Actually doing some haylage bales this afternoon. One field of corn has to wait till we get a few good dry days in a row,
it's to steep to safely get down from when the roadway gets damp.
This was our first frost of the season.

Might have to check on and cover up the pineapples.

I stumbled on something I wish I hadn't. Jim Beam Apple. Got one of those travel sized bottles just to try. Dern tootin' good fer whatever ails ya'. Almost more like cider than Beam (OK, not quite). Gonna be real hard to resist getting a full bottle next time I go to Granny's Emporium.

It did here. 24 this morning. Even though I covered the tomato plants they still got it, as well as what was left of the pole beans.

Tomato season was about average here, plants didn't grow as tall but still got plenty...most still green. As usual, gotta ripen them inside then about first week of Nov. can 'em.

We had a pretty good frost here today also. My tomatoes are under some heavy greenhouse plastic though, so didn't get hit. They are finally starting to ripen up good.
