I use amsoil diesel all in one in my rtv and L2501

I put 1/2 ounce /gallon of Wally World 2 cycle oil in my diesel for the mechanically injected diesels like the JD750, Chevy 6.5 diesel, and the IHC Scout Diesel. With the ULSD running in older motors, the 2cycle oil provides additional injection pump lubrication. Stabile in the tanks if sitting for a long time.

After replacing injectors $$$$in my truck, the shop advised me to use Stanadyne Lubrication Formula. I have a couple quarts of white Power Service to help with water in the fuel and asked if that was good to use. He said no, but to change the fuel filter every other oil change and don't use dryer. I asked why and he said the fuel is very dry already and Stanadyne Lub. Formula was to obviously lubricate the injectors.

I saw a chart floating around with test results from about 15 different additives pertaining to injectors. Most are a net zero gain if not a negative but Stanadyne Formula was very near the top if not the best one to use.

Anyone up North that has experienced a gelled diesel due to poor winter blend fuel might tend to lean towards the additive camp. I blend my own #1 and #2 50% at the off-road pump so I know for a fact I'm getting true winter blend. Then I also add a winter anti-gel/cetane booster so I know for a fact on a zero degree day I won't have trouble plowing snow. I did my stint with a tarp and torpedo heater trying to thaw a gelled tractor once, never again. 4 ounces of prevention is way easier:)

Agree 100 percent. Been there and done that as well when I lived in upstate New York.

Should add that I used and still do use the Power Service stuff in white bottle year round and have never had any issues.

What does the manufacturer recommend? Cummins for the first time ever now only recommends two products by Power Service. One product is for sub freezing weather and the other can be used year round. Now does this have anything to do with Cummins' partnership agreement with Power Service and money changing hands? Naaah, surely not.
