Here some have gas some only have 1 grade. Seems like the mobil station stays out of fuel . While, others have plenty( shell, chevron & the independents)

I am approximately 50 miles north of Charlotte. Gas is scarce here at times. One lady here in the office has family on the NC coast and there is no problem there.

In western and central NC fuel comes on the Colonial Pipeline. The pipeline has not been at capacity due to the Ike and Gustuv. In eastern NC the fuel can be had from the ports so they in better shape. We have only had problems with gas. Diesel has been ok and the price has been at 4.05 where I usually buy. The high priced place has been at 4.39 and he dropped back to 4.19 this week. 92/93 octane is about the same price as diesel. For months diesel has been 30 cents more than 92/93.

The last useful tidbit of info I hear on the shortage is that the pipe line moves fuel about 120-150 miles a day so Its going to take more than a few days from refinery restart to actually get fuel to us. At this point it looks like the shortage is mostly over.

The pipeline is actually two pipelines. One ran gas while the other ran fuel oil/diesel/etc.

Some areas in TN are having shortage because they require special formulated gas for the air quality. They just can't bring in any gas. They have to have special gas.

Diesel hasn't been a problem in Southwest Virginia, but at times one has to drive around to a couple of stations to get regular gas. Some stations only had high grade gas a few days ago. I just got back from Richmond, VA and the prices there were lower by about 25c-30c per gallon. Our average price is right at $3.69 and the Richmond area has it for $3.41-$3.50. Diesel was was $3.81-$4 a gallon in Richmond and it is now $4.09-$4.49 here. I also talked to a vender in TN who said he was having trouble getting gas. He said he drove to three stations last Friday before he got gas.
