kioti ck30,,front mount snowblower
I just bought a new ck30 hst with a front mount snow blower,It seems to use a lot of fuel compared to my old mf 1020 doing the same work
does any one know how many hours I can expect per tank of fuel

Have you actually measured fuel consumed or are you just looking at the gauge? The gauges are famously inaccurate. I still have at least 5 gal remaining in my 15 gal tank when my DK45 reads empty. Diesel fuel consumption is pretty linear with shaft horsepower unless there is a problem in the engine (like a sick fuel injector).

I have seen two estimates of diesel fuel consumption by tractors operating under "average" conditions: 0.044 and 0.048 gallons/hour/PTO HP. For 24 PTO HP, the estimated "average" fuel consumption would range between 1.06 and 1.15 gallons per hour.

I have a 2004 (year built) CK30hst. I don't run a snowblower but when plowing with a backblade or using the fel to push piles of snow, my rpm is 2300-2400. At that engine speed, I use just under a gallon/hour. If I'm using the bh or lighter work and around 1800-2000rpm, I'm well below a gal/hour. This is a 1500cc or 91.5cu.in. 3 cylinder. I'm not sure what a MF 1020 had. Your tank is 7.9 gals. and you should definately get 8 hours. As mentioned, the fuel gauge isn't reliable for usage other than full and empty. When mine indicates a 1/4 tank, should be 2 gallons, I still have a little over 3. Mine did start do better though after the 50 hour mark and settled in at around 100 hours.

I think that's pretty close. My tractor will burn right at or just under 1 gl./hr. running at PTO rpm and putting some torque load on the engine. Easy loader work and misc. light work goes to under 1/2 gl./hr. Over-all mixed use I have been averaging 5 gl. per 12 hrs. run time.

That sounds about right. 1gal/hr. My CK27 uses about that when blowing snow.

1US gallon = 3.78Litres

My new JD 1025 was using A LOT more fuel than my JD 4010. After about 20 hours, the fuel consumption has gone down to about hp prorate of that used by the 4010 over 660 hours: (24.2/18.5) x 0.46 gph = 0.6 gph. I keep the fuel used in a little notebook. Each time I finish off a 5 gallon container, I record the amount (5 gallons; sometimes it another amount) and the hours.
