Oil & Fuel Fuel Filters Keep Stopping Up in BX1850

I am about to change the fuel filters on my Kubota BX1850 for the third time in only 20 hours. The second time I changed them, I completely drained the tank and put fresh diesel in from a different supplier. I added SeaFoam as well. I noticed that the used filters were filled with a dark green to black gunk. I also have been using SeaFoam ever since. In only about 10 hours, the tractor is showing symptoms of the filters stopping up again. What must I do to keep from having to change the fuel filters every 10 hours?

Maybe try using a fuel conditioner if you think the "gunk" might be diesel fungus. I get it here whenever fuel is stored a few weeks in warm weather.

Ouch, the tank needs to be flushed. if biocide has been added, all the aglae stuff becomes black sludge and go to bottom of tank. Looks like you have a big job ahead of you to drain tank, clean sludge, flush out with petrol or alochol then hook up with clean filter. when getting new diesel, I would take the extra 5 mins to clean your can as well to be on the safe side.

Sounds like a bad case of bacterial growth in the fuel system. You will need to treat the fuel with a biocide to kill them off, flush out the fuel tank and refill. Continue to treat with a biocide to prevent any further growth.

I second bacteria. When this happens you'll change several filters before all the gunk works it way out of the tank.
