Fuel gauge on RTV 900 incorrect

I have a new RTV 900 and the fuel gauge does not seem to show the amount of fuel actually in the tank. The gauge shows a 1/2 tank, but when I checked the actual fuel level in the tank it was only 2 inches deep. It seems to me that the fuel gauge should be indicating 1/4 of a tank or less. Also, the gauge tends to bounce while I'm driving.

Is this normal, or should I take it back to my dealer for repair.

Back to the dealer I'd say. Guage or the sender could be bad. It's new, so it's their problem.

My guage is very accruate and stable.

How do you like the 900 other than this little issue?

Love the RTV900, I traded in a 2000 Kawasaki Mule for on it. Mule had about 1100 hours and was trouble free. The RTV really seems to sip fuel (10.7 gallons for 33 hrs and still have fuel left). I also like that the RTV slows to a stop when I let off the accelerator.

Glad to hear that you like it. My RTV and BX are very easy on fuel...A big bonus in my opinion. I like the engine braking as well...Some complain about it, but I like it when going down steep hills etc.
