This weekend my fuel gauge quit working on my NH1725.
When I first start the tractor it gives a reading, I think is accurate but then it drops to empty after running for a few minutes. Does this sound like the sending unit or the gauge and how hard is it to replace?

You want a wild guess? How about a loose wire somewhere, or a wire that's so close to a heat source that it's going to melt the insulation, if it hasn't already.

I just bought a new TN65 and after a couple of weeks the fuel guage stopped working. I grounded the guage with the key on and determined it was working fine. Pulled the unit out of the fuel tank and found the float was water logged with diesel fuel, had a slight crack(had to have been a mfg defect. Took some fuel proof glue and filled the crack and now everything works fine.

NAPA parts stores have a universal fuel guage and sending unit in a kit, cheap..the guage is the same size as most aftermarket ammeters, oil pressure etc etc guages, round, 2 inches i think.
