Where should I start, it seems that the fuel gauge on my L3400 stays on full even though I added 5 gals to fill the tank. The gauge on my wife's BX1860 seems not to be moving off full either. Hers took 2-2.5 gallons to fill.
I would not worry so much of the "top half" of the gauge... How does the "bottom half" of your gauge work?
Mine says Empty when it's only half empty... ran out of fuel a couple of times but I just learn to live with it. Would like to see if anyone has actually fixed it.
My BX2660 fuel gauge never worked properly. I just lived with it and topped it up every time i finished for the day. Just bought a new l3940 and have used it about 5 hours and the gauge has barely dropped. I suspect it will take a few gallons. I'll learn it's usage over time and will fill early. I'm not going to sweat the fuel gauge as I don't want the tractor out of service for the time it would take to only "maybe" fix it.
You have something going on with the gauge or sending unit... When my L3400 (2009) shows nearly empty, 5 gallons will fill it almost to the brim. The first couple hours run time shows almost no gauge movement, then it moves down fairly evenly after that.
They're supposed to hold nine gallons, so even when it gets to showing empty there's still a sizable reserve. The danger is in not realizing how long ago it started showing empty..
i bought a int 2500 a couple of years ago and the fuel gauge always gave false readings.i called the international dealer got a price on gauge and sending unit,if i remember right it was close to 100.00 for both parts.he then said he had aftermarket ones for a lot less.i think the sending unit was 28.00,gauge around 25.00. i love it when you look at the gauage and you know how much fuel you have, well worth the money.
Same with my BX2660. The dealer sent a technician out to my place and he installed a new panel, no charge to me. The new one doesn't work either. I just check the fuel before I start up the tractor.
my 2660 will show empty,so i shut it off and restart, and it's fine for a while, won't call the dealer,he dosn't care,so now i won't even buy a quart of oil from him,i pick it up from another dealer in another town when i'm there
Thought there might be an easy fix, guess not, will live with it like the rest of you. Not really an issue I check fuel regularly, but it is nice to be able to tell where you are.
