I have a new 3720 cab...love the tractor...issue is the gas guage...it seems to read very inaccurately...half a tank is really close to empty...dealer says deere knows of issue but has no fix yet...is this accurate??? Anyone else have the same...really is a pain.

Other than that tractor has been great.

Dave:

I have a 3520 and my fuel guage has been pretty well behaved. That being said, I had to replace my entire instrument cluster due to a bad hour meter and my dealer parts manager led me to believe that the instrument clusters on the 3x20 series machines are an issue with JD and that JD was pursuing a claim against the manufacturer because they were having so many problems. I do know that I have seen a number of comments about how useless the fuel gauges are on a lot of the JD machines, not just the 3x20 series so maybe it's just a bad set-up from the start. Maybe you should ask your dealer and see if he has anything to say.

I was working with my 3520 one day and despite having 3/4 tank of fuel, the light started flashing and the needle dropped to E. Has done it a couple of times since, the dealer said it is happening on the 3x20's with some regularity. JD is supposed to be working on a fix. I am going to wait until they correct it instead of just having them replace it with another unit that may do the same. Unless I get close to end of warranty, then I guess I will have to take my chances with a new unit w/o the fix. Hopefully they will get it corrected soon.

My 4520's fuel gauge was erratic, could not be trusted at all.Dealer replaced sending unit about 9 months ago w/no problems so far.By the way ,the problem was from the day i purchased the tractor

the fuel gauge on my new 3720 was DOA and dealer didn't have part so they delivered with promise to pick up and fix when they got part. Picked it up Monday so I'm sure it will be back shortly. Must not be that robust of a design for them to have this many problems.....

glad to hear I might not be the only one...dealer, who is great in service, said they are problematic and deere is working on issue...that however was 3 months ago and still no fix...really a pain...having somewhat similar issue on my 244J...its less accuate then it should be...but atleast in it you can visually inspect tank for level...on the 3720 that;s not possible.

guage on my TN-75 worked perfect :(

Yes, I'm having the same problem. My 3320Cab tractor was running low on fuel, so i added a mere three gallons, and the gauge shot to Full. It eventually got back to normal, but took several days. I'm waiting on the official John Deere fix as well. I'd rather not have the dealer picking up my primary piece of snow removal equipment more than once......

The fuel guage on my JD 3320 hasn't worked since the first week I had it back in the spring. The dealer told me that there was a problem with fuel leaking into the sensor and likely corroding the unit. He said JD was working on it but hadn't identified a solution yet. He said he could put in a new unit on my tractor, but suggested waiting until JD identifies a permanent fix. For now that is OK with me. During the winter I'll try to keep the fuel tank topped off anyway. Hopefully a permanent fix will come soon though.
