Oil & Fuel Fuel leak on a 7305

Just discovered a fuel leak on my 7305. It is up near the fuel injector pump by the intake manifold. From the look of it, I think engine vibration caused the line to rub against something until the line wore through. I have had the tractor almost 5 years and has about 200 hours on it.

Has anyone else run into this problem with any of the 73xx or 72xx series of tractors?

When I replace the line I plan on adding some extra protection to the line in that area to make sure that does not happen again.

Sorry to hear that. I had almost 300 hours on my 7260 before I sold it with nary a problem. Try getting some wire loom from an auto parts store and wrap it around your new line. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

This is almost funny. I read this post a couple days ago, we got a snowstorm and I had to let Lucy out to play. What do I find on the new-fallen snow but pink off-road diesel color. Fuel line has a pin hole just aft of the oil filter from rubbing on the frame. FYI, it looks like if the fuel line were routed around behind the oil filter this wouldn't have happened. Also raises a question: Will a pinhole in the fuel line allow air into the system and rob the engine of power and possibly cause any damage??? Should I trade her in on a Mahindra 3015 as soon as possible? Just joking.

Lucy's dad... no need to worry about the pinhole leak. The line pressure is more than the air pressure... worst case is leaking a little fuel. It's not going to suck air. Using some loom is a good idea... but I would also use some tie wraps to keep it away from anything that could harm it. With a little loom and some tie wraps you should be trouble free for a long time..... at least for that problem!!
