While digging on the property the other day I noticed a strong smell of fuel.:( I shut off the tractor and did a quick walk around and found fuel pouring from the engine conpartment. I ran down to the shed to grab the fire extinguisher and when I got back, I opened the hood. I could see fuel all over the left side of the engine but it took me awhile to pinpoint the source. I was a fuel hose that had been attached to the tank with one of those clamps that you squeeze with a needle nose plyers. It had just come off the nipple on the fuel tank. I put it back on and made sure the clamp was on correctly. I guess I'll be adding that to my list of things to check when doing my daily check. Here is a picture of where it came off.

That's not good. Must have shipped that way. I doubt it came off by itself. How many hours on your L3400?

Yea that is kinda strange, them clamps are spring loaded so they are constantly applying pressure even if the hose shrinks.
Must have been shipped that way like ccsial said.
