No, use heavy duty fuel injection hose. I recently replaced the fuel line on my tractor with Gates Barricade fuel hose. The original fuel lines on the tractor were not fuel injection rated and disintegrated within 2 years. As for using it submerged in the tank, I don't think it would work. The line I replaced had gotten fuel soaked from a leak underneath the tractor and had started to get soft.
