204 Jinma
I have a 204 Jinma 3cyl. with 139 hours. Has been running like a clock and I love it. I use it on a small horse farm. When moving manure, I have to climb a steep hill. As fall is here, I've been caring heavier loads up the hill with the fel. About a week ago, the gear I usually use started to bog on the very steepest section. I stopped, shifted to low range and comtinued to the top. Once on the level, in about 30 seconds, the motor died as if out of fuel. I used the plunger and it was obvious no fuel was being moved. I kept playing with the d-ring and plunger and eventually it started to move fuel and the motor started and was fine. The tank was low at the time and I thought at the steepest point it ran short of fuel. I filled the tank and the same events happened yesterday with the same results. Previous to the repete of the events I had been using the tractor and climbed the hill at least 7 or 8 times, and it ran fine. I have checked screens, filters, and cracked hard lines to purge air. Any guesses?

When I changed my fuel filter it had this rust in it. Looked over everything and forgot I had a sediment bowl just below the fuel tank. Took it off and cleaned it put when I put it on I forgot to clean the screen thats tucked under the sediment bowl support casting. Might want to check that if you havent already.

When I assembled my 224 crate last year I removed the fuel tank and emptied the fuel in there. Glad I did. It was real nasty looking. I also washed out the tank in a parts cleaner, the sediment bowl too. There is also a small screen type filter inside the banjo nut fitting on the injector pump where the fuel enters the injector pump. This may be the culprit.
Good luck and let us know what you found/did to solve problem, Harry

I think I solved my problem. The problem showed up again today while I was climbing my hill. As soon as it did, I shut down the tractor and got out the wrenches. Pulled the filter bolt from the bottom of the injector housing that connects the fuel line from the sediment bowl. Low and behold, no fuel coming out of the line. I played with the shutoff valve and finally got fuel flowing readily. I'm not sure exactling what's plugging up but I will disconnect everything from the injector housing back to the tank and thoroughly clean. Thanks for the help guys! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
